About us

Iron Workers Local #9, located in Niagara Falls, NY was chartered to the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers on March 18th, 1902. For over one hundred ten years Local #9 has contributed to the growth of Western New York and all parts of the U.S. and Canada.

Our members serve in the building of bridges, schools and universities, manufacturing plants, stadiums, hospitals, office buildings, power plants whether they're nuclear, coal or hydro and so many other structure types that make up the foundations for society. Members of Iron Workers #9 are highly skilled and highly productive craftsmen serving the man power needs of all types of contractors in the construction industry. Local #9 is a mixed local, which means we cover every aspect of the trade.

Our rigorous four year apprenticeship gives our members thousands of hours in classroom instruction and thousands more in field work to create some of the safest,highest skilled and most productive construction workers in the market. Our goals are to be the safest and most productive workers you can fmd in the construction industry. With constant journeyman upgrade classes and safety training we stay on top of the newest technologies and skill sets in a forever changing constructionmarket.
